Notional Capital gives entitlement to Saving Pension Credit
Mon 02-Aug-04 04:16 PM

An amusing case (except for the claimant) where they are said to have deprived themselves of capital (stopping a claim to ordinary Guaranteed PC). The notional capital thus generated has given an entitlement to Savings Pension Credit.

What a farce.

How bizarre. I assume the diminishing capital rule will now apply, so that the capital that does not actually exist (from the claimant's point of view) will reduce in time, thereby decreasing their Savings Credit, and at the same time move them closer to eventual Guarantee Credit (and possible passporting etc). Try explaining that to the client!
