Can anyone in welfland suggest somewhere that can advise and advocate on behalf of an older adult in connection with 'paying for care' and other issues such as power of attorney for partner with advanced dementia who has gone into care.

You could try Age Concern Blackpool and District 01253 622812.
If they don't provide the service they may be able to signpost you on to another local provider.

Thanks a lot Seal, i was really half expecting someone with an intimate knowledge of the area from the area. But very grateful (and feeling very very gormless because i do unpaid bibs and bobs for AC Dorchester, although i'm off sick with Flu, and claiming delirium as an excuse) oh and its good to see a new contributor from the South West (changing the subject rapidly).
