IIDB/REA
Thu 12-Jun-08 12:24 PM

Hi everyone,
Can you tell me if IIDB is paid after retirement age. I believe REA is paid as Retirement Allowance but can't find confirmation re IIDB. If they are paid are they paid at same rate as before retirement?

IIDB is paid as long as someone has an award of benefit, benefit only reduces on reassessment and therefore could be payable for life

And a colleague of ours raised an interesting point in a recent REA workshop at NAWRA. He was clear that in some circumstances full REA could be payable after retirement age. Most interesting. Thank you.

Could not go for REA because date of onset post 1.10.1990. Also please do not forget for certain disease people can claim Workers compensation scheme (1979 ACT)
