Can anybody confirm that a benefit week for CA runs Monday to Sunday please? Specifically, cared for person died 23/12/09 so is last date of CA entitlement Sunday 21/02/10? I need to switch CA claim to another disabled person from the next day so that carer can continue to claim IS.

Yes, the payday for CA is generally Monday weekly in advance (para 4 of Sch 6 of the Claims and Payments regulations), unless the disabled person is getting constant attendance allowance as part of industrial injuries benefit or a war pension, in which case it's Wednesday.

Don't forget that there is an eight-week run on of carers allowance after the person being cared for dies. The 8-week period normally starts on the Sunday following the death, but as the death occurred on Sunday it runs from that day.
