Carers Allownance-Allowable Expenses
Wed 07-Mar-07 01:12 PM

Does anyone have access to on have a hyperlink to the actual CA rules on 'allowable expenses' from employed income?
Also does anyone else have a clt who claims CA as well as receiving a wage through the Direct Payments scheme?
I have a really complicated case that i need to try and get my head round to see if i can assist/advise him.

The introductory para's from chapter 15:

15000 The guidance in this chapter concerns the calculation of earnings for the purposes
of
• ADI and CDI
• the exempt work provision for IB
• CA.

15001 The guidance should be applied to cases where payment of or entitlement to benefit
in any benefit week beginning on or after 25.11.96 is affected by a persons
earnings1.

The law itself is in the Social Security Benefits (Computation of Earnings) Regulations 1996. I am always a little wary of the Decision Makers' Guide - I have recently come across a place where it doesn't seem to have been updated following a change in the law. It may sometimes also reflect DWP interpretations of the law rather than the law itself.
