Free school meals
Mon 11-Jun-07 08:50 AM

Just had a query from a coleague re school meals. She has a client who was complaining about the fact she cant access school meals because she gets WTC and CTC and it got us thinking.

Free school meals are available to those on CTC but not WTC and income less than £14495. So, assume income of 14494, take off 5220 threshold and times 37% = 3431

WTC basic element plus lone parent/couple element =3430

so not entitled to WTC and therefore free school meals.

BUT, that income figure is at the very limit. If you were on about £14490 then you would be entitled to WTC and no free school meals.

If somebody knows where I'm going wrong please come back and tell me.

Dumbkopf!! Apologies to all for the duff post. Had a long lie down and now no longer in paranoid conspiracy theorist mode. Have beaten to death coleague who inveigled me into this and threw the remains to a jack russell.
