War Pension - Application for a review.
Fri 21-Nov-08 10:26 AM

I notice that Form WPA0012 sent in response to an application for review of a War Pension award, now contains an added paragraph...

"Unfortunately we cannot take into account any deterioration which is purely as a result of the ageing process."

The implication behind this seems designed to "put off" perfectly legitimate requests for review when a condition caused by trauma in the Armed Services deteriorates as the ageing process occurs. How on earth can they distinguish between the normal ageing process and the deterioration in injuries caused by ageing; or perhaps they will not make any distinction.

It seems to me to be yet another example of the MOD double standards; publicly thanking our service people for their efforts and sacrifices, while privately screwing down on the financial costs of pensions, compensation, etc.
