Hi All

I have recently had a number of complaints from clients about the difficulty they are having in accessing the Benefit Claim Line as it seems to be permanently engaged. Having tried to call on a client's behalf, I experienced the same problem.

This is a particular problem for those without access to landline phones as mobiles are charged for the call.

So far my advice has been for clients to call in at JCP and ask to use their phones although some JCPs seem reluctant to grant this (they certainly don't offer!)

I intend to raise the issue with a local MP in a meeting this Friday, but if anyone has other tactics I'd be interested to hear them. I'm particularly concerned as there is a general move from landlines to mobile phones in my patch.
