Overpayment Recovery Guide
Tue 20-May-08 09:52 AM

Hi guys, anyone have a link to the most up to date version of the ORG? I've tried DWP Debt Management site and in Toolkit here, but can't find it. I've got an old link to a 2005 version.I just need to check that its up to date before I quote it to the debt centre. Cheers.

In a reply from James Plaskitt dated 6.508 concerning issues with debt management he states "The overpayment guide is an internal manual for staff use ..... we advise customers, whether members of the publicor organisations, to contact Jobcentre Plus if they have any queries regarding Departmental procedures"

I think this must be ministerial speak for 'it is not publically available'!

And for your entartainment - in the same letter he states:

"I am sorry for any confusion caused by the term 'dispute period'. Although not a legal term, it is used in the Department's Decisions an Appeals Regulations." Is there no hope that DWP can apply the law correctly to even the odd claim?

you could try a freedom of information act request to get it.

"...Although not a legal term, it is used in the Department's Decisions an Appeals Regulations." errm.... scratch head and frown reaction!
