Hi All....

Can anyone please point me in the right direction where it states that childcare costs are based on what is charged rather than what is received in form of payment?

Case history:

Client is charged £175 by her childminder per week. For the past two months the client has only been able to pay £100 to the childminder per week because of financial difficulties (all sorted now) which means she is in arrears with her childminder and a payment plan is in place to repay these.

Inland Revenue in their wisdom have now decided to base her award on £100 childcare costs as this is what she paid rather than what was charged hence leaving her with an overpayment and arrears still to be paid to the childminder...

any pointers in the right direction would be gratefully received.

thanks
Sarah
