Carers Allowance
Thu 18-Feb-10 09:30 AM

I have a client who is in reciept of SRP of £56pw and is being paid £3 CA.

As a result of actually being paid the CA her daughter who she cares for has been refused SDP.

When I rang CA they said that they use the basic rate of pension to calculate whether or not a person recieves CA or just the underlying entitlement.

They said that in this case the basic rate is £49. Has anyone come accross this before and is this correct.
