Overpaid WPA precludes payment of JSA(IB)
Fri 21-May-10 08:36 AM

Hi - some help here please.

Client’s Widowed Parents Allowance continued after her youngest left home. She worked for a few weeks then claimed JSA. Claim was rejected as her income exceeded.

It was subsequently decided that WPA had been overpaid - no dispute as clt did not notify change.

Will late appeal against JSA decision bear fruit do you think?

(To offset against WPA overpayment)

the revised WPA decision gives grounds for revision of the JSA disallowance. arrears of JSA can be offset for overpayment recovery.
