I expected something today but not this. Ex-client phoned in a panic to say she had received a message from DWP that all her IS was to stop so I arranged to drop in this morning while visiting someone else close to. Hands me a letter which goes like this- "you failed to return your MI12 for mortgage costs which raises questions about your entitlement to IS so we're stopping it-the secretary of state has considered your circumstances and does'nt think this will cause you any hardship" Loved the last line. The client takes max anti convulsant therapy, the stuff they give racehorses to calm them down and taking away IS meant she was only left with DLA care and Mob

Phoned IS and told them reason MI12 wasn't returned was because she doesn't have a mortgage and owns the house outright. Oh! they said.
IS now back in pay. But I'm a bit lost as to why failure to return the mortgage form(failure to claim more money) is taken as some indication she isn't entitled to IS for herself!

d'ya ever think it would be good idea if someone could compile an anonomized(?) central dossier of just some of the incomprehensible, rude, illiterate, ideotic, arrogant, ignorant and unlawful communications sent to claimants by the secretary of state...

you know the sort - the ones you read and they have an instant effect on your blood pressure...

and present it to him so that he could see what he does with his time...
