I have a claimant who has given up work to look after his wife who had a emergeny ceasurian <2 months earlier> due to a serios heart infection which nearly killed both mother and baby,they also have a 2 yr old son.
He has been to the DWP who say she must claim on their behalf which she has done.My question is could they be entitled to any other help apart from IS?

There's the £500 maternity grant if the claim is made within 3 months of the baby's birth.DLA if the heart condition is ongoing, plus CA for husband if DLA is awarded at the 'right' rate,... Husband also needs to ensure that his NI record is OK if he doesn't get CA.Can't think of anything else as I assume that she's claimed IB as her route to IS.
