Can I check if you can claim Income support purely by being a claimant of DLA mid rate care. There is no lone parent or carer's issues - just a person who is on mid rate care. I think this person would have to try for ESA? Can I check this?

You will find a list of those eligible to claim IS at page 301 of CPAG's handbook. Your client does not appear to fall in to any of the categories so if they are unable to work through sickness or disability then ESA is the one to go for.
