The Brave New World of Pension Credit
Tue 23-Mar-04 03:41 PM

Interviewed aged pensioner today who has an existing claim for Pension Credit.

They had been asked to complete a review form to check the details, and were sent an A2. Remember them? Phoned to check why so - surely the Pension Credit was supposed to avoid these cumbersome old forms? Told by local office that didn't have any other forms that would do the job, so old Income Support forms are being sent out instead. So -several months after the introduction of Pension Credit, periodic enquiry takes place with the old forms we knew and loved. Alackaday.

Ditto, I'm stuck in an outreach session and just had one. A hybrid mix of HCTB1, NHB1, A2 and change of address form for a pensioner who looked close to cracking up. Aahh! to wake each morn and listen to the birdsong, reassured that the new simplified systems are in place and all is right with the world.
