Is it me or is the addition of foster carers in the new regs (SI2004/1276) badly worded? Not that this should surprise me! It seems to read that child care provided for a child UNDER fostering services regulations 2002 is now eligible, but goes onto say other than for a child who is fostered with that carer.
Surely...
a. no childcare costs arise where child is fostered with that carer so this makes no sense, and b. the intention was to include foster carers as a source of recognised and formal childcare where childcare costs can be met? Doesn't seem to do that? Perhaps a couple of words are missing!
