A client has enquired (and I don't know the answer to this!) how long they must expect to wait after writing for all their records from one of the benefits they claim. Made a written request more than 6 weeks ago. Is there legislation I can read? I'd be really grateful for help here.

Do I need to ask my client which benefit this request was made for or will the legislation about Data Protection Act be the same for all?
What do they do if any time limit has been exceeded?
