Voluntary work.
Wed 30-Jan-08 04:33 PM

I don't deal with JSA, so I wonder whether anyone can answer this question.

If someone is working over 16 hours, but it is voluntary work (no payment whatsoever received), are they automatically excluded from JSA on the basis of hours worked or would it be a question of whether they were actually available for work?

Thanks in advance!

As long as they are available for and actively seeking work and are not paid anything that would constitute earnings then there should be no problem.
