Bring back the Stocks.....
Thu 31-Jul-08 03:32 PM

You can't say you weren't warned - young Mr G Orwell was closer to the mark than you might think - just a decade or two out.......so it seems that as long as you "do the right thing" your'e OK.

Secretary of State for Work and Pensions James Purnell said yesterday -

'"We will not let people languish on benefits ... there is still a minority of people who repeatedly fail to do the right thing. It is clear that for them, the current penalties are not effective in changing their behaviour.

This review will look at what more we can do to further tailor the system to provide the support and the sanctions these people need to get them off benefits and back into work."'

"lanquish": To be or become weak or feeble; lose strength or vigor. A fitting verb more applicable to this government's performance in its dying days.
