Benefits codes on bank a/c payments
Mon 10-Aug-09 03:22 PM

Does anyone have any source for the meanings of the codes saying what payments are composed of on bank statements etc.

The kind of things are XB - Xmas Bonus, SPR - State Retirement Pension etc.

I think it depends on the bank. You do see DLA, CHB, but I'm fairly sure I have seen DSS recently because the benefit has been in payment a long time and the receipt code hasn't changed.

I think the codes are in the reference sent by the department, that's why the XB only appears in the relevant payment.
