ANY I.S ENTITLEMENT OR OTHER SUGGESTIONS??
Tue 03-Feb-04 02:57 PM

I have a 58 year old client and wife in receipt of the following benefits would there be anything else they may be eligable to claim?

Mr M
Industrial Injuries at the maximum rate, reduced earnings allowance. D.L.A at MR care and LR mobility.

Mrs M (aged 59)
S.D.A, D.L.A at HR care & HR mobility.Has underlying claim to C.A.

No capital, own their home are receiving small reduction of CTB due to carer calculation.

Any help or advice gratefully recived as Mr M considering claiming C.A.A and does not require full assistance so hope he will not lose D.L.A in process.

Many Thanks

Well, I think...

1 - Mr surely has an entitlement to incapacity benefit - if he isn't getting this already and you just missed it off the list

2 - does the CTB calculation include an amount for the (double)severe disability premium - councils have been known to get the interaction between this and underlying entitlement to CA wrong

3 - regarding IS - you would have to give precise figures regarding income - (REA is variable I believe) and confirm if mortgage is fully paid off

4 - CAA - this overlaps with the care part of DLA, so you get the one which pays most - (CAA has potential for more money)

Hope this helps!
