Danish 'Premature Disability Pension'
Thu 22-Oct-09 01:26 PM

Hi All,
I have a client who has come to live in the UK with his wife and family. They formerly lived and worked in Denmark. He suffers with Schizophrenia. I have made a sucessful claim for DLA - Highest rate care and lowest rate mob have been awarded indefinitly.

I wonder if anyone knows anything about the benefit named above?
It's quite generous £880.00 per month.

Is is classed as income for Tax Credits etc?

Can DLA be claimed at the same time or do they overlap?

Thanks for any help offered.

Y

I persuaded cl in the linked post to chase up the pension you mention. It was awarded and the gap in entitlement paid also.

there is a list of income that is disregarded for IS purposes and this pension is not on it, it shouldn't overlap with DLA (DLA's not an overlapping benefit in classic terms) and certainly didn't in my case.
