Carer's Allowance and SSP
Wed 17-Nov-04 06:44 PM

Our client's wife receives MRCC of DLA, and nobody is claiming CA for looking after her. The client is currently receiving SSP and is unlikely ever to return to work. Is there any reason why he shouldn't receive CA for the short period until his IB kicks in?

SSP counts as earnings and is usually £66, so under the CA limit.

No reason why both SSP & CA cannot be claimed, backdate CA three months if earnings etc allow?
