HMRC Liaison meetings
Wed 04-Mar-09 07:30 PM

Anyone had any luck in contacting HMRC, to organise Liaison meetings with them, in order to iron out the ongoing diffculties advisers face on a daily basis?

Any numbers or contact persons that folk have would be greatly appreciated as I am interested in attending a liaison meeting in Scotland.

Thanks

Nicola.

Hi Nicola,

Why don't you contact Andrew Burland of the BenCR Benefits & Credits team as he organises the Tax Credits Consultation Group? There's a meeting down here in London next Wednesday 11 March at Parliament Street

Tel. 01772 235372 andrew.burland@hmrc.gsi.gov.uk

We feed back the information from the consultation group that Paul mentions above to Rightsnet through Inside Track:

http://www.rightsnet.org.uk/toolkit_1356-6108-1698.html

It is updated monthly. As far as I know there are no local HMRC liasion meetings in Scotland (or indeed anywhere) other than the main group in London. We have suggested this in the past.

NAWRA has a rep on the group, so you can raise issues through her, and of course we are happy to raise issues through the main group if you want to email us anything. The Inside Track will give you an idea of the types of issues that representatives are raising. The minutes from the past meetings have been published on HMRC website if you want to get a flavour of the things discussed.

Victoria
