Supersession Statistics
Wed 03-Feb-10 03:31 PM

Next week I'm going to have the rare pleasure of discussing supersessions of Disability Living Allowance with a group (who will no doubt be sat in rapt attention throughout). I wonder if anyone could tell me if there are any statistics for the outcomes of supersessions requested by customers - ie awards reduced, increased, or stayed the same. It would be one of many interesting talking points, in an already eagerly-anticipated talk.
If no statistics are available, I would guess 60% stay the same, 25% increase, 15% reduce. Anyone disagree?

DWP has an Information and Analysis Directorate which collates their statistics. You could try contacting them. For details see https://secureonline.dwp.gov.uk/iad-contact/contacts.asp I've bombarded them with requests for statistics and they have always replied quickly and tried to be helpful, but the usual response is "We are sorry, but we don't collect that information."

Thanks for the suggestion - I've given it a try, and at least have been impressed by the way it's set up.

I await a 'sorry we don't collect that information'.
