Widowed Mothers Allowance
Wed 02-Apr-08 01:51 PM

Cli receives this, husband died 12 years ago..

Two children to husband aged 15 & 13.. She now has new partner, not living together and is pregnant..

1. I take it there is no increase in WMA when new baby arrives
2. I understand that if she re-marries, the WMA will end, is this correct..?
3. Will the WMA end if she moves in with new partner but does not marry him..

I have looked in CPAG, but getting myself confused due to the different forms of bereavement benefits..

1 & 2 - correct

3. Yes - cohabitation disqualifies her from receiving WMA. It can be reinstated if cohabitation ends.
