Hello,

I am a looking for maximising income for my client who is 71 yrs old with two young children who are 10 and 12 years old. He is divorced and is staying with this children. He is in reciept of the following benefits:

Weekly Benefits:
a)Old age pension
b)Tax Credits
c)Pension Credits

Monthly Benefit:
a) Family Allowance.
b) Housing Benefit.
c) Council Tax Rebate.

I was wondering if he could be eligible for anymore benefits which I could not spot. Some times he falls short of money having to cater all the needs of his children.

So I am trying to maximise his income. In this regard I would like to request for any advise in how to maximise his income.

Regards,

Vamsi Pelluri

Pension Credit + State Retirement Pension should come to at least £119.05pw, probably a bit more.

Child Tax Credit should be maximum (£5235pa) - weekly payment rate may differ a little.

HB and CTB should cover full rent and council tax unless he is in private rented accommodation and there is a rent restriction in force. (Unless the Pension Credit consists only of Savings Credit).

If the above is all correct, nothing else to be done on information given.

Main possibility not mentioned is Attendance Allowance for him, Disability Living Alowance for children if there are any health problems/disabilities. Child Support Maintenance from absent parent would be worth getting.
