just ploughing through uprating statement - http://www.dwp.gov.uk/docs/benefitrates2010.pdf

anyone got any explanation for the oddity of transitional Invalidity Allowances (the old 'age allowances') ?
I know these are going down to equalise people on long-term IB and ESA, but how come lowest rate age addition seems to be going up?

2009 £15.65 -- 2010 £15.00
middle
2009 £9.10 -- 2010 £8.40
low
2009 £5.35 -- 2010 £5.45

I'm mystified ....
