Just had a weird conversation with CA ....

Client awarded CA backdated 3 months from date claimed but in the interim between claiming and award being made, husband who she was carer for died. Advised client that she would get 8 week run on and IS too on this basis and put in BB claim. But no payments on CA have continued. Called CA who said that the award had been a one off payment as no on going entitlement and that the 8 week run on did not apply, something to do with previous employment - this is despite the one off payment covering 3 weeks following the husband's death. Can't find anything in the regs or DMG to suggest that the 8 week run on would not apply unless the claimant started working and earning more than the permitted amount or in full-time ed.. Going to go and see the client on Monday to look in detail at the CA award letter but anyone come across this or any ideas what CA are going on about? Has also messed up her IS claim as they don't realise she should get a 8 week run on whether or not CA paid ...
