pension credit
Thu 19-Mar-09 02:47 PM

Good afternoon everyone. I would be very grateful if anyone could give me some help with this query. I saw a lady today aged 63 who has been in receipt of PGC for 3 years. In april 2007 she inherited a 50/50 share of her deceased fathers property valued at 250k. She only advised PC in January 2009. PS have stopped PC and she cannot afford to pay the mortgage on her own property. She only has a small SRP of 30.00 pw . Her sister is desperately trying to raise a mortgage to 'buy her out' of the inherited property but is struggling. There are tenants in the new property and her share of the rent is 250.00 pcm.
Has anyone any ideas?

Who graned the lease(s) to the tenants and what kind of lease(s) is/are it/they?

The property can also be disregarded for 26 weeks or longer from the moment she takes steps to sell it. There might be an overpayment for a past period however, if she knew she had a share.
