I have a lady in receipt of IS and DLA, who lives alone and is renting her house from her mother. She receives Housing Benefit. Her mother is thinking of selling the house to her. Client wants to know if she can receive housing costs. Looking at IS (General) Regs 1987, Sch.3 para.4(8), it seems as though she can, but I wanted to check if there was anything else I should be aware of, before she makes the decision (assuming, of course, that she can get a mortgage). Any thoughts?
