Has anyone had any experience about how long the TCO are takign to turn appeal requests into actual appeals, ready to be listed by TAS?

Forever.

(sorely tempted to leave it there)

Allegedly 80 tax credit appeals were heard I think last half of 2003 (and all were dismissed) (please don't quote me on this as it's a couple of months since I saw it and I can't remember my source).

I've got a couple in from November 2003 where just nothing has happened and another where I keep getting idiotic (there is no other word, really) requests for further info from TCO appeals officers with ridiculously short deadlines (less than two weeks) given that they have done nothing for months and that I can only assume are there as a means to get appeals struck out for want of prosecution.

The couple where nothing has happened I've got TAS to direct for action under Regulation 38(2) of the Social Security and Child Support (Decisions and Appeals) Regulations 1999. TAS have been as appalled with the delays and have been quite enthusiastic. At one point a clerk from TAS rang TCO to see what was happening to be told "We've never heard of you ((TAS!)) and we are not going to talk to you".

Both of them are about to be registered and then listed TCO sub present or not, and if there isn't a TCO sub I intend to produce my own.
