There is probably a very obvious answer to this in the regs but I've not located it yet.

If someone pays childcare fees to a registered minder and so gets the relevant disregard in housing benefit, does this still continue whilst they are off sick and getting SSP? What about the relevant amount in tax credits?

This issue has arisen where a tenant I am trying to help has had to continue to pay the childminder to retain her place for when she returns to work, but the disregard has been ended.

Answers on a postcard please!

Try applying for DHP until your client returns to work
