Fitness for work statements
Wed 05-May-10 11:36 AM

Afternoon everyone

I have a client who has shown me a recent FitCert.
In the 'Conditions' box the Maudlsey Hospital doctor has written
'F20' and 'F12'.
Does anyone know what the Dr is referring to?

My client suffers from bi polar affective disorder and wassectioned for six weeks earlier this year.

Thanks for you kind help

Dan

I think it's referring to the ICD-10 Classification of Mental and Behavioural Disorders

F20 - Schizophrenia
F12 - Mental and behavioural disorders due to cannabinoids

F12 - Mental and behavioural disorders due to use of cannabinoids

F20 Schizophrenia, schizotypal and delusional disorders

Hope this helps.

I know we are clever and can decipher these types of medical codes.
But I bet no one at ESA/IB sections of Jobcentre Plus or at Atos Origin can!!

Never underestimate your opposition, overestimate their abilities and never yours least one be thought of as arrogant.

Thanks you for your help.
Considering the decision maker ignored a clear diagnosis of bi polar AD incuded with the reconsoerdation request and continued to insist that client suffers from mild depression, failure to understand the maudsley's codes is probably a minor issue.
