Capital disregard
Fri 03-Sep-04 09:15 AM

Hi all, got a tenant currently living in temporary accommodation following a breakdown of her marriage. She has been granted a decree absolute and also received a settlement sum of £26.000 from the proceeds of sale of the former matrimonial home. She is currently on income support.
She plans to invest in a property as soon as possible. I understand that for HB/CTB purposes this capital could be disregarded for up to 6 months and longer where appropriate, does this apply to Income support as well.
