Qualifying young person
Wed 07-Jan-09 01:12 PM

19 year old just started NVQ level 1 course. College have arranged an unpaid placement in a school for 15 hours a week. She does not have to attend college at present. Intuitively I would have thought she was a QYP, can anybody confirm please?

The route to the definition of "qualifying young person" starts in section 142 of the Social Security Contributions and Benefits Act 1992 and leads to regulation 5 of The Child Tax Credit Regulations 2002.
