I wrote to the IDCT on 12/01/10 about a matter I had been unable to resolve with the Overpayments Disputes Team. TCO already had a signed authority on their system. I heard nothing so I called the IDCT today. The system says that my letter was received by the TCO on 18/01/10 but was not with the IDCT. On querying the internal delay, I was told that all incoming correspondence went through a "distribution team" who decided which section to send it to depending on the content, not which section it was addressed to. My letter may therefore not end up with the IDCT. I was under the impression that if you addressed a letter to the Intermediaries team, that was where it went. They accepted responsibility for dealing with the matter and sent out the acknowledgement etc, although they could forward it to another section if appropriate. Anybody had similar experiences?
