Now, I might be missing something here, but when JCP invested in new technology, it did not reduce the processing times to a "matter of minutes", a minor detail that appears to have passed Ms Ritchie by. However, if that is the case, then why doesn't said technology work so efficiently in our processing centres ........
=============================================== £23 million investment in new information technology for Pension Centres in Northern Ireland Claims processing will be radically improved says Minister Claims processing at the Belfast and Londonderry Pension Centres will be radically improved as a result of £23 million investment in new information technology, Minister for Social Development in Northern Ireland Margaret Ritchie has announced. According to the Department for Social Development, whilst it used to take days to process claims, because forms had to posted out and returned, 'now it can be done over the phone in a matter of minutes'. 'This is great news for thousands of pensioners in Northern Ireland' the Minister said. 'This investment in new technology will make the application process quicker and more automatic, making a difference to those on the lowest incomes. Older people will be able to access Pension Services from the comfort of their home and this new process will make it easier for older people to claim the support that is rightfully theirs.' ====================================================
