When to claim PC and grabbing £200 Mon 06-Jun-05 02:33 PM
I'm doing an article for our bulletin on the £200 payment for Council tax announced in 2005 budget. Rule is must be 65+, not in receipt of Guaranteed PC in qualifying week up to 25/9/2005.
What happens if a pensioner applies for and qualifies for the guarantee credit in the week after the qualifying week and receives the full years backdate. Does that backdate, covering the qualifying week,knock the £200 payment on the head.
