Housing benefit staff asked to delay decision making where Baumbast rights asserted

I hope the above is the correct link.

I feel this is an appalling way to react to a decision that empowers clamiants.

How, pray tell, is the claimant to pay the rent whilst a mandarin deigns to read 2 decisions? Only to me 3 hours to read them ( I am a bear of very little brain) so tell me why the extended delay!!!

To be serious; the decisions change law. It is effective immediately. If DWP wishes to appeal - and god forbid they are successful - the law changes again. If the Dept delayed the decision making process every time the law changed no one would be paid anything ever.

Sorry for the post bank holiday rant.
