The most recent information I've seen is contained in this document -

DFG Test of Resources Calculation Sheet (pdf)

which you can find on this website http://www.foundations.uk.com/ about Foundations which is the ODPM appointed National Co-ordinating Body for Home Improvement Agencies (HIAs) in England. Under the "Policy and Practise" section, you can find the pdf document under "Test of Resources" - it is noted that this is not the most up-to-date version.

I never cease to be amazed by the gems at the fingertips of this website's contributors. I'd been searching the web for hours! Thank you so much!

There are no income thresholds per se. Contribution will depend on family circumstances compared to income. Applicable amount and income are calculated in much the same way as for housing benefit, and income in excess of applicable amount is subject to various multiplication factors to determine contribution. Ferret Information Systems (www.ferret.co.uk)produce a calculation package which is more comprehensive than the Foundations PDF.

thanks for the info re Ferret - at the moment we don't subscribe to any Ferret package so sadly we can't access it!
