single adult with child--granted ILR under the concesio... Wed 03-Mar-04 03:56 PM
i am working with an asylum seeker who has been granted ILR under the concession. she is a single parent with a seven year old child. she applied for income support but was told she had to sign on at the job centre. is this correct?
i thought maybe it was the new tax credits kicking into effect and treating her as a single adult but surely they do not come in for new claimants until April? and anyway, doesn't she remain in entitled to income support?
also her letter granting ILR contans a funny paragraph telling her she is entitled to benfits including JSA--Blunkett hasn't excluded this group from being able to claim income support has he?
can anyone help the income support people say they will come back to me...but i'm still waiting ...
