I have a client whose partner recently died. He went on SSP one week before she died and would have been eligible for CA, but didn't claim. Could he now claim and ask for backdating, hence being eligible for 8 week run-on after the death also?

If so, how would the form be filled in? - the section where the person being cared for has to sign the statement.
