WTC paid with wages
Wed 11-Nov-09 10:16 AM

Hello

I'm trying to help someone with an old overpayment of Tax Credits. Can anyone remember when WTC stopped being paid via the employer along with wages?

Thanks

PVE was phased out between November 2005 and 31st March 2006.

Hope that helps

Thanks for the quick replies - it's for a WTC overpayment in 04/05. She's adamant that she didn't get it and we have confirmation from payslips and employer that it was not paid along with her wages. Just wanted to check that this was still when most people got WTC in this manner

I recently dealt with a case for 2004/2005 - overpayment was £10,000. Out of the £10,000 HMRC alleged a £3000 overpayment due to PVE.

Upon checking her payslips from that period, it was clear that the payments were never received. Worrying that there could be more cases out there.

It was sorted once we sent in the payslips.

Hope you manage to get it sorted.
