Student Nurse - Childcare costs
Fri 05-Dec-08 10:01 AM

Ok, i'll try to put this as clear as i can....

I have a couple with 1 child. He works full time, she is a nursing student studying for a diploma in nursing.

She gets a bursery for living costs, but uses half of it £250 pcm, to pay for a registered child minder to look after the child whilst she is at college.

TC will not pay any child care. Is there anyway around this.

I have posted in HB too, as i have tried to get them to disregard the childcare for income purposes but they wont either (they also take the bursery into account in full as income)

Seems unfair that a couple trying to better themselves are not getting this assistance from the system.

Thanks in advance.

I think i have sorted it, there appears to be a bursary for childcare costs available from NHS.

Problem solved
