RE: Backdating for refugees

According to a Refugee Council update, although the Asylum & Immigration (Treatment of claimants, etc) Bill - which contains the measure to scrap the backdated entitlement - received royal assent on 22 July, only parts of it will become law within 2 months (those measures relating to undocumented migrants and refusal to co-operate with removal). All other sections require secondary legislation which the Council says "means that it may be some time before we see measures enforced".
