Does anyone know of any kind of montoring that the tribunlas service that the TS does with regard to appellants age/ethnic background/gender/sexuality etc? I've just given the Glasgow office a call and they say that they don't record this sort of information, especially not linked to the outcome of appeals.
I did think that I couldn't ever remember clients being asked to complete a equal opps type of questionnaire, but is this right? How do they know that they aren't being biased?
The reason I'm trying to find out, btw, is because we have had a constant flow of traumatised African women being turned down for any kind of disability benefit - just trying to see if it was just us, or if there is a trend.
