Attached link to DWP's 'Working Age Client Group Tabulation Tool', given by Jonathan Shaw in answer to parliamentary question on ESA stats -

http://83.244.183.180/100pc/wa/tabtool_wa.html

Anyone come across it before?

Yes. This is the second or 3rd iteration and they're working on another version with National Statistics.

It's good for detailed or local data, particularly the 5% sample stuff, It's not the easiest tool in the world and there's a lot of stuff not in it, like non take-up for example.

Yes. It makes more sense if you look at this page first

http://research.dwp.gov.uk/asd/

and then follow the link to this page

http://research.dwp.gov.uk/asd/tabtool.asp.

You'll then need to keep scrolling down to read how to access the various data sets.

Or go straight to http://83.244.183.180/100pc/tabtool.html
