Tribunal decisions time taken
Wed 02-Dec-09 02:24 PM

Hello all

Usually when we go to a tribunal a client gets the decision on the same day, on the rare occasions that it is not the same day, a decision is usually sent within a couple of days. However I have been waiting three weeks for a decision for the last tribunal I did. I am sure that there will a genuine reason, chair off sick etc, but did get me to wondering if there is any time limit for tribunals to make decision. I have already done a set a side letter for this case, in expectation of the case being turned down, as I thought it was handled very unfairly, and can't help thinking that there must be some sort of time limit, otherwise you could be kept waiting years. Is there any such thing. I suspect not, but nothing to lose by asking.

Please check with your local Tribunal office, in view of recent postal problems. I have just had to deal with a case where there was a clerical error in the decision , where the first version of the amended decision sent back by the Judge never arrived at the Tribunal office, and they had to ask again, to the judge's obvious surprise.
